Developed and facilitates enterprise training and coaching program for AMSA enterprise and supply chain development. Training and coaching 100 enterprises annually.

Developed a strategy for a community base Science Park and currently raising a R1b for the project. The park offers Advanced Manufacturing platform, Footwear & Leather manufacturing technologies and Agriculture/ Agroprocessing platform to develop product prototypes.

Developed framework and facilitated collaboration of intersectoral team to improve the health of mothers and young children. Facilitated workshops for community entrepreneurs on proposal writing, project management and organisational development.

Facilitated workshop for various NRF programs such as Internship Program and SA PhD programs. Served as Mcee and Dj as well. Offered coaching services for scientists wanting to commercialise their innovations.
2010 – 2013
Raised more than R100 million to develop the Bio-manufacturing pilot plant to scale up technologies. Brokered partnerships between universities and industry partners and managed a pipeline of more than 10 products at various stages of development.
2005 – 2010
Formulated and implemented a strategy to grow the biotechnology industry in South Africa through CapeBiotech and BioPAD. Managed a portfolio of projects and start-up companies worth over R280 as well as served as an board member to more than five start-up companies
2003 – 2004
Worked with the HIV vaccine-manufacturing group and responsible for providing technical input and ensuring proper dissemination of information between the contract manufacturers and regulatory consultants.
2004 – 2005
Managed the regulatory activities for selected products and served as a point of contact, interacting with the Food and Drug Agency (FDA) as well as with other international regulatory agencies . Provided support to the development, coordination, and execution of regulatory strategies.
2001 – 2003
Conducted research on stem cells and managed the newly established laboratory. Developed SOPs and processed more than twenty material transfer and confidential disclosure agreements. Also designed and offered an intellectual property training program for scientists.
1996 – 2001
Conducted research utilizing bioinformatics tools and molecular techniques to study sickle cell anaemia. Published two manuscripts and trained students. Served as Secretary as well as President of the African Students Association (ASA).
I am Dr Joe Molete (PhD, MBA) – but am popularly known as Dr Joe. I am a motivational speaker, organisational development coach and a workshop facilitator. I currently serve as the Executive Director for VUT Science and Technology Park where I work with and support many entrepreneurs.
